Althaia Artesana nace en la Marina Baixa, en el Mediterráneo. La producción íntegra de todo el proceso se encuentra aquí en el pueblo de Altea, dese la molienda del grano a la maduración final en botella.

Althaia Artesana también tiene detrás una bonita historia de amor: Cuando Mayte vino a Alicante para continuar su trayectoria profesional en el mundo del vino conoció a quien hoy es su marido Jorge. Un día probando las cervezas de Jorge este le confesó que su sueño siempre fue el de vivir de lo que más le gustaba, hacer cerveza. Ambos, apasionados de la elaboración no se lo pensaron dos veces. Al fin y al cabo, si no es ahora ¿cuándo?

Así pues, Jorge Sánchez es el alquimista. Un apasionado de la cerveza que tras muchos años elaborando decide vivir su sueño. Elaborar una cerveza artesana de alta calidad cuyos únicos ingredientes son agua, malta, lúpulo y levadura. Queriendo con ello ensalzar el verdadero sabor de la cerveza, en la cual se puedan percibir claramente ese contraste entre los sabores del cereal y el frescor del lúpulo y conseguir así una cerveza en equilibrio, mediterránea en matrimonio con nuestro sol, nuestro mar, nuestra gastronomía.

Hoy en día la familia Althaia ha crecido, con un nuevo miembro en el equipo: Jens Maudal. A Jens se le puede considerar uno de los pioneros del movimiento craftbeer en Europa. Tras varios años de amistad decidió dejar su anterior proyecto en Noruega con la cervecera Haandbryggeriet para volver a las raíces de la cerveza artesana con este proyecto, aportando así su experiencia y sabiduría.

Cervezas Althaia are brewed in the Marina Baixa, on the Mediterranean Coast. The entire process of production takes place here, in the town of Altea.

Althaia is said to be the ancient name for Altea. A word of Greek origin that means “I heal”, which is the symbol of our philosophy. Our beers are 100% natural and full of nutritional value. We use only the highest quality natural ingredients. Our beers represent the Mediterranean lifestyle: Sea, beach and sun. That’s us!

Althaia’s story is also a beautiful love story: when Mayte came to Alicante to continue her professional career in the “World of Wine”, she met Jorge. One day trying Jorge’s beers, he confessed that his dream was always to make a living out of what he loved most: making beer. Both, driven by their passion for brewing, took their step into the craft world and never looked back.
