Empresa fundada en el año 2000 tras la compra, al Grupo Danone, por parte de Mahou del 70% de las acciones de San Miguel, empresa de la que ya poseía el 30%.

En el año 2004, el grupo compra la cervecera canaria Cervezas Anaga y en 2007 el Grupo de Cervezas Alhambra, convirtiéndose así en el primer primer grupo cervecero con capital 100% español.

Aparte de las cervezas ya mencionadas, el Grupo Mahou-San Miguel tambien es dueño de la empresa Solan de Cabras.

Durante 2012 alcanza un acuerdo de join-venture por el que pasa a controlar el 50% de la compañía índia Arian Breweries & Distilleries Ltd.

Tiene un total de 8 centros de producción repartidos por toda la geografía nacional.

Desde abril de 2007 se incluyen las ventas de Cervezas Alhambra.
