Huir de la guerra y empezar de nuevo.

En la primavera de 1872, August Kuentzmann Damm y su mujer Melanie abandonaron su Alsacia natal con motivo de la guerra entre Francia y Prusia.

Como muchos emigrantes de aquella época, eligieron Barcelona. A finales del siglo XVIII, en Alsacia, ya se hablaba de las posibilidades que ofrecían los países del Mediterráneo. Su clima. Su gastronomía. Su calidad de vida. Unos países que, además, vivían en aquellos momentos la efervescencia del modernismo.

En 1876, August fundó su empresa cervecera para seguir haciendo lo que siempre había hecho: elaborar cerveza, lo que continuaron haciendo posteriormente sus hijos y sus nietos. Hasta hoy, son ya once generaciones de Maestros Cerveceros.

Después de más de 130 años y once generaciones de Maestros Cerveceros, seguimos elaborando nuestra cerveza con la misma ilusión con que la primera Estrella salió de nuestra fábrica.
