Espiga Old Script is a masterful Imperial Stout that blends the brewery's Dark Way with a component aged for one year in fifteen-year-old whiskey barrels. This deep black ale presents an intense sensory landscape, starting with a rich bouquet of cocoa and espresso driven by Chocolate Malt and Unmalted Roasted Barley. The extended wood maturation imparts elegant layers of vanilla, toasted oak, and a distinct whiskey spirit character. Supported by a base of Golden Promise, the palate is robust yet finishes with a sophisticated, slight dryness. Malted Oats and Flaked Oats create a signature silky texture, while Galena hops provide a firm, balancing bitterness against the comforting warmth of the 11% alcohol.
