DouGall’s Frida Kahlo

Belgian Dark Strong Ale - 11.5º - 32 IBU
Dougall’s

DouGall’s Frida Kahlo is a formidable Belgian Dark Strong Ale that pours a deep copper with cedar highlights. The intricate grain bill, including Extra Pale, Light Munich, Amber, Crystal 150, Crystal 240, and Chocolate malts, establishes a rich, bready-toasty foundation. Aromas are dominated by intense caramel, cane honey, and candied fruits, while the BE-256 yeast imparts distinctive banana esters. On the palate, these sweet, dark flavors are joined by a lingering licorice finish. East Kent Goldings hops provide a subtle earthy counterpoint to the malt-forward profile. This 11.5% ABV brew is exceptionally smooth and warming, benefiting from four months of maturation.
