Dougall’s Abyssal

Abyssal is a monumental Imperial Stout that plunges into sensory depths with a dense, opaque presence. The complex grist, featuring Maris Otter, Munich, and Chocolate malts, creates a rich foundation of bittersweet cacao, espresso, and black licorice. Roasted Barley and Black malt add intense charred notes, while flaked oats provide a luxurious, velvety texture. Magnum and Chinook hops contribute a firm, resinous bitterness that counters the deep malt sweetness. A unique addition of sea salt flakes sharpens the focus of the chocolate and coffee flavors, while the 10% alcohol remains remarkably well-integrated and warming.
